The College of Information and Engineering at CJCU established in 2005, based on diverse development, the college renamed The College of Information and Design in February 2016. The College comprises four departments and one Bachelor degree program.
  • Department of Information Management (IM) (founded in 1993),
  • Department of Engineering & Management of Advanced Technology (EMAT) (founded in 2002), and
  • Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering (CSIE) (founded in 2005).
  • Department of Digital Contents Design (DCD) (founded in 2011).
  • Bachelor Degree Program of Innovative Interactive Design (founded in 2015).


All the departments and programs have successfully fulfilled the evaluation requirements from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE). Besides, the departments are accredited by the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET). The IM Department has created a certification center to cooperate with The National Project Management Association.

The college has been recruiting knowledgeable and creative scholars graduated from prestigious institutions home and abroad into faculty, who have brought innovative ideas, development and design experience into classrooms and labs, and generated substantial research results. Various sources of funding have been granted from government, such as National Science Council and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and many private sectors as well. These R & D results have been published in the world's top scientific journals, and some R&D prototypes have won Invention awards and/or patent recognition. 
College Features
  1. Humane characteristics and information literacy, cross-discipline integration, and completed with a series of capstone courses through a team project.
  2. State-of-the-art information technology development training: equipping students with information technology skills prominent in current technical trends.
  3. Guidance for certification: Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 5 Programmer (OCJP), Information Technology Expert (ITE), the Project Management Association (PMA), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) .
  4. Various experiential activities related to employment and job market, such as internships and business visits.
  5. Recently, the college focuses on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to train and encourage new UAS-related products and services.
