摘要: | Inter-religious dialogue arises from need of human beings, which comes from different religions’ concern for suffering, the lament of conflict, the need to resolve misunderstandings between each other, and the desire for truth and justice in the world. These are the foundations of "peace."
Before starting a dialogue , you must first determine your own position, and the same is true for religious dialogue. Raimon Panikkar (1918-2010) on their position did an interesting introduction: "I, as a Christian journey, found himself a Hindu, and then return as a Buddhist, but has not stopped for Christians.
However, religious begins with a premise of freedom, justice, and harmony, and these three elements are the inner foundation of peace. Therefore, peace is both the starting point and the goal of religious dialogue . But there are differences in levels. The end of peace can only be a hope, not a treaty. And the practice of peace is ultimately in our living conditions, not in theory or doctrine.
